This is after the man was convicted of rape of his 13-year-old stepdaughter. The court ordered that his name be added to the Register of Sexual Offenders and declared him unfit to possess a firearm. On the afternoon of 24 December 2023, the man took his stepdaughter to his friends’ place of residence, which was not far from his own in Ekangala. On arrival, the man requested his friend to buy alcohol while he stayed behind with the child. While waiting for the friend to return the child fell asleep on the couch and the man proceeded to rape her. The operation was led by MMC for Community Safety, Cllr Mzayifani Ngwenya. 🔌 What was done: • Over 6 000 illegal connections were removed. • Fines to the value of R84 564 were issued.
