City departments comprising of EMPD and Energy Department removed illegal electricity connections at Riverside informal settlement in #PalmRidge today. The operation was led by MMC for Community Safety, Cllr Mzayifani Ngwenya.
🔌 What was done:
• Over 6 000 illegal connections were removed.
• Fines to the value of R84 564 were issued.
Altogether, 10 residential fines and 1 business fine were issued.
This operation was part of the ongoing efforts to ensure a safer and reliable electricity supply for all.
📢 Residents are urged to report illegal connections and play their part in protecting community infrastructure.
