[BLOEM SHOW 2026] The South African Police Service (SAPS) continued to make a remarkable impact at Bloem Show 2026 on the seventh day of the event, held under the vibrant theme of “Beach Party.”
Visitors and learners were treated to an exciting and educational dog show simulation presented by the Bloemfontein K9 Unit in collaboration with the Bloemfontein Air Wing. The simulation showcased the exceptional skills, discipline, and operational readiness of the police dogs and their handlers, while also demonstrating the important role played by the K9 Unit in crime prevention and law enforcement.
The thrilling demonstration attracted large crowds, especially learners who were eager to witness firsthand how police dogs assist in tracking suspects, detecting illegal substances, and ensuring public safety. The Bloemfontein Air Wing also added excitement to the display, highlighting the coordinated efforts of various SAPS specialised units in maintaining safety and security.
Adding to the significance of the day, the SAPS Free State Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thabang Lesia, paid a special visit to Bloem Show 2026 in support of the SAPS exhibitors. His presence served as motivation and appreciation for the dedicated members who continue to represent SAPS with excellence and commitment at the annual event. Lieutenant General Lesia commended the members for their professionalism and for consistently putting SAPS on the map through meaningful public engagement and service delivery.
To further uplift the atmosphere, the Provincial Band also graced the show with their beautiful performances, entertaining visitors with sweet melodies that created a joyful and welcoming environment throughout the day.
The participation of SAPS at Bloem Show 2026 continues to strengthen the relationship between the police and the community by creating awareness, promoting safety, and showcasing the diverse services offered by the organisation.
Through exhibitions, demonstrations, and entertainment, SAPS remains committed to serving and protecting the people while building trust and partnership with the public.
