@SAPoliceService #sapsHAWKS [HAWKS ARREST FORMER DEPARTMENTAL OFFICIAL IN R1.3 MILLION LAND CLAIM FRAUD] The Hawks in Mpumalanga have arrested a 50yr-old former Deputy Director of Finance at the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform in connection with an alleged R1.35 MIL fraud involving funds intended to support a community land restitution project. Grace Mokoka was arrested on a warrant of arrest in connection with a case registered at Nelspruit in 2018. She is facing charges of fraud, theft, corruption in terms of the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act (PRECCA), and money laundering in terms of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA). The investigation stems from a land restitution project involving the Ingogo Communal Property Association (CPA), which successfully lodged a land claim in 2018. Mokoka appeared before the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on 29 September 2026, where she was granted bail of R1 000-00. The matter was postponed to 26 October...

  IPID has earlier today arrested two Gauteng Highway Patrol Officers for allegations of murder. The two officers will appear in the Randburg Magistrates Court tomorrow. The deceased was driving with passengers along Olifantshoek Road when they were allegedly followed by the two police officers. The police officers allegedly fired several shots at their car, injuring the driver and one passenger. The driver succumbed to his injuries at Tembisa Hospital.   🇿🇦 Fuel prices set for another major increase in October South African motorists are facing another sharp increase in fuel prices, with the latest Central Energy Fund (CEF) data indicating that petrol could approach R30 per litre and diesel could move above R33 per litre inland. The September fuel adjustment already pushed inland petrol to R26.76 per litre for 93 and R26.92 for 95. Wholesale 50ppm diesel reached R30.05 per litre. As of 29 September, CEF-based projections indicate that if the current under-recoveries carry through to the end of the month, October prices could reach approximately: ⛽ 93 Petrol: R29.58/L ⛽ 95 Petrol: R29.92/L 🚛 50ppm Diesel: R33.04/L 🚛 500ppm Diesel: around R31.80/L These figures are projections, not final prices.   Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy “Lulu” Muteke and their two children are reportedly among six people killed in a helicopter crash in Marondera. The Bulrushes reports that the Chivayo family were among those on board the aircraft. Zimbabwean police confirmed that an aircraft with six occupants crashed at around 5pm, but did not release the names of those on board. The government has confirmed that there were no survivors.   The eThekwini municipality has officially stopped hiring private companies for water trucks and has bought its own fleet instead. Local authorities announced that they will have a massive 361 municipal water tankers fully running to service local communities by the end of this year.
