  REIGER PARK SHOOTING ACCUSED APPEARS IN COURT, ALLEGES BRUTAL ASSAULT IN POLICE CUSTODY Twenty-four-year-old Jamal Meyer appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday facing serious charges, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, and the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. Meyer and 23-year-old Cheslyn Collis have been linked by the State to a fatal shooting in Reiger Park earlier this month. The two Anti-Gang Unit officers were reportedly responding to reports of gunfire when they came under attack. The victims have been identified as Constable Tlomatsane, Constable Sibeko, Roleen Lessing and Jayden Magerman. The State further alleges that Meyer and Collis attempted to murder another person during the incident and robbed the two deceased police officers of their service rifles. The Court heard the testimony how Tshidiso met the victim walking from a tavern on 08 December 2025. He then convinced her to accompany him to his residence. According to the testimony, Tshidiso assaulted the victim and violated her repeatedly for three days. During the third day, the victim managed to seek help through the window. She was rescued and taken to a local hospital. A case of rape was opened at Reitz Police Station, and Constable Khehle Mosikili of Bethlehem Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit was tasked to complete the investigation. #EndGBVF #Sentencing The South African Police Service (SAPS) Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Kariega in the Eastern Cape, has welcomed the successful conclusion of the case involving the brutal murder and rape of eight-year-old Veronique May, whose body was discovered in Kamesh in October 2025. The accused, Lelethu Nkosana (27), was found guilty and sentenced in the High Court, Gqeberha, on Monday, 17 August 2026. Nkosana was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for housebreaking, life imprisonment for rape and life imprisonment for murder. The sentences will run concurrently. His name will also be entered into the National Register for Sex Offenders.
