 Ghana 🇬🇭 is set to build a new modern city outside Accra as part of a long-term strategy to reduce congestion in the capital and improve urban planning.

President John Mahama says the project will also help address recurring flooding problems that have recently caused deaths, damaged homes, and disrupted businesses across the city.
The proposed city will be developed over the next 20 years and is expected to include residential areas, business hubs, and government institutions, all supported by modern roads, water, and electricity infrastructure to encourage settlement and investment.
Authorities say the plan is not only about expansion, but about creating a more resilient and better-organized urban future for Ghana.
