Our technicians remain on the ground across the City responding to faults, restoring power, and maintaining critical infrastructure to keep communities connected.
📍 Current operations include:
✅ Cable fault locating underway at Hippo Quarries in #Olifantsfontein
✅ Testing and fault location between Derrick Road and Steel Road in Spartan, #KemptonPark
✅ Practical training at Munic Substation, where students are being shown live testing, isolation and phasing procedures
✅ Response to cable theft at Prosperitas Substation in Nigel Houses, with affected circuits isolated while power restoration continues
✅ Fault-finding and replacement of a faulty meter at Selcourt Ext 12
✅ Installation of DP boxes and metering infrastructure in #ReigerPark
✅ Streetlight repairs and replacement of fittings, control gear, and lamps on Kurper Road, #KemptonPark

 Tuesday 5 May 2026 #WANTED The #HAWKS members from Pietermaritzburg Serious Commercial Crime Investigation are seeking information on the whereabouts of Gugu Maria Zikalala (55), who is wanted in connection with a fraud case. In March 2015, Zikalala is alleged to have submitted a false affidavit to the Master of the High Court in Pietermaritzburg, falsely claiming she was eligible for appointment as executor of the estate of the late Nqobile Minenhle Ndlovu and falsely claiming to be her biological mother. Zikalala also submitted a death certificate for the late Thulani Michael Ndlovu, the biological father of Nqobile Minenhle Ndlovu. Her application sought access to the minor’s guardian funds, amounting R243 983.09. The Hawks are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Gugu Maria Zikalala.
