VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Germiston News is seeking volunteers to support its community journalism initiatives.
Volunteer Benefits and Reimbursements:
Germiston News may, at its sole discretion, provide any of the following on a case-by-case basis:

These benefits are voluntary and discretionary and may be granted only when a task has been assigned by Germiston News or when a volunteer willingly participates in approved activities. The provision of any benefit does not create an employment relationship.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
• Must be 18 years or older.
•South African or legal documented foreign nationals may apply but preference will be given to South Africans citizens.
• Passion for journalism, news, and community development.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to gather factual and accurate information.
• Own smartphone with internet access.
• Willingness to attend community events and conduct interviews.
•Own transport an advantage
• Commitment to ethical journalism and verification of information before publication.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of social media platforms is an advantage.
• Previous journalism experience is beneficial but not required.
• Must be willing to learn and follow Germiston News editorial policies.
Students studying Journalism, Media, Public Relations, Communication, or related fields are encouraged to apply.”
