The MMC for Metro Operations and Maintenance, Ald. Nomadlozi Nkosi, together with the MMC for Metro Trading Utilities, Cllr Jean Sthato, conducted an oversight visit in Germiston following a recent electricity outage affecting several areas.
Technical teams are currently on site attending to the fault. However, persistent rainfall has posed significant challenges, resulting in delays in restoration efforts. Despite these conditions, teams are working with urgency to restore power as soon as possible.
The outage has affected parts of Delville, including Webber Road, as well as sections of Lambton (Catchet Avenue and 9th Avenue) and Parkhill Gardens (Halimton Road, Percy Street, Collin Wade Road, and surrounding areas).
During the visit, the MMCs also engaged directly with community members, providing updates on progress and listening to residents’ concerns regarding service delivery and response times.
