♻️ROOIKRAAL AND SIMMER AND JACK LANDFILL SITES TEMPORARILY CLOSED
The City of Ekurhuleni wishes to notify residents and patrons of the Rooikraal landfill site in #DawnPark, as well as the Simmer and Jack landfill site in #Germiston, of the temporary closure of these two facilities due to unforeseen circumstances.
The Rooikraal landfill site is currently closed due to internal technical issues that are receiving urgent attention.
Meanwhile, Simmer and Jack landfill site is closed due to a shooting incident by illegal miners that happened on Sunday afternoon.
#EMPD has taken over the Simmer and Jack landfill site and is monitoring the situation.
Updates will be communicated as soon as they become available on the city's digital platforms. Alternatively, Weltevreden landfill site in #Brakpan, Rietfontein landfill site in #KwaThema, and Platkop landfill site near #Katlehong remain open for service. The city apologizes for the inconvenience caused 🤝
