UFC Champion, Dricus du Plessis has made a massive naming rights deal with the English Premier League (EPL). While he has a significant presence in South African MMA and has partnered with the EFC for events, du Plessis has scored a knockout deal — landing a massive almost R400m sponsorship with Newcastle United through his Cape Town drinks brand, Knox.

The Welkom-born fighter partnered with friend and entrepreneur Ethan Hughes.
"Dricus and I were actually sitting around drinking tequila, trying to figure out what we were going to do together because we were friends first," Hughes said.
"Then a few ideas were tossed around, and we ended up landing on hydration."
And that is how Knox was born, named after Du Plessis’s fighting nickname “Stillknocks”.
Looking ahead, Knox is eyeing 22 new markets over the next 18 months, with a UK retail launch already planned for the next 45 days.
Hughes also confirmed early talks were under way about bringing Newcastle United to SA to face a local side.
In response to the sponsorship deal, Newcastle United CEO David Hopkinson said: "They share our relentless drive to disrupt the status quo and reach the pinnacle of our respective industries.
"This is not just a branding exercise [but] a performance-led partnership that will also support our community."
Knox CEO John Schaefer echoed the sentiment.
