RDP housing fraud involves various forms of misconduct, including bribery, illegal sales, nepotism, misuse of funds, ghost beneficiaries, evictions, and illegal transfers. These fraudulent activities can severely impact low-income communities and undermine the integrity of the RDP program. To combat these issues, the Department of Human Settlements has implemented measures to protect beneficiaries and ensure fair housing allocations. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspected fraud to the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), Public Protector South Africa (PPSA), National Anti-Corruption Hotline (NACH), or directly to the Department of Human Settlements.
