Ronda Rousey is an American judoka, mixed martial artist, professional wrestler, and actress, renowned for her groundbreaking achievements in both UFC and WWE.
Ronda Jean Rousey, born February 1, 1987, in Riverside, California, began her athletic career in judo, training under her mother from the age of 11. She became the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in judo, earning bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Following her Olympic success, she transitioned to mixed martial arts (MMA) in 2011, initially competing in King of the Cage and then Strikeforce, where she became the last Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion.

Rousey was the first female fighter signed by the UFC and became the inaugural UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion, holding the title and defending it six times, a record for female fighters until 2022. She retired from MMA in 2016 and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.

In 2018, Rousey transitioned to professional wrestling, signing with WWE. She debuted at WrestleMania 34, won the Raw Women's Championship at SummerSlam, and headlined Evolution, WWE's first all-women's pay-per-view. She has also won the Royal Rumble and the SmackDown Women’s Championship, becoming a prominent figure in WWE history.

Outside of sports, Rousey has appeared in films such as Fast & Furious 7, The Expendables 3, and Mile 22, and published her autobiography My Fight Your Fight. She is married to fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne, whom she wed in 2017.

Rousey is widely recognized as a trailblazer in women's combat sports, earning the nickname “Rowdy” in tribute to wrestler Roddy Piper, and is celebrated for her influence in both MMA and professional wrestling, as well as her role in advancing women's participation in these arenas.
