Two businessmen lost their lives during the incident while transporting cash. The convoy was ambushed by heavily armed suspects, triggering a high-speed chase and a chaotic exchange of gunfire on public roads.

One of the victims, Yusuf Modan, is being remembered for his bravery. It is reported that he turned back during the attack to assist colleagues who were already under fire. By that point, Abdul Hamid Moosa had been fatally wounded. Modan was later shot and killed while confronting the attackers.
During the shootout, one of the suspects was killed and another injured. The remaining attackers managed to flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A security guard who was part of the convoy sustained serious injuries and was rushed for medical treatment.
