A Ceres man on trial for multiple rape charges involving minors claims the acts were “consensual”.
Let’s be absolutely clear:
Children cannot consent. Full stop.
This case involves deeply serious allegations, including the rape and exploitation of multiple minors, as well as the creation of child sexual abuse material. Any attempt to frame such acts as “consensual” is not only legally invalid, but morally indefensible.
We urge the public to recognise that this claim forms part of the accused’s defence, not a reflection of the law or of justice. South African law is unambiguous in its protection of children, and rightly so.
Action Society continues to stand with victims of violent crime and abuse. We call for:
- The full weight of the law to be applied
- A justice system that prioritises the protection of children
- Accountability for those who exploit and harm the most vulnerable
No child should ever be subjected to this kind of abuse, and no narrative should attempt to normalise or excuse it.
