Kagiso Michael Lerutla has been arrested. He was taken into custody at OR Tambo International Airport and is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate Court on Monday, facing charges of fraud, corruption, and obstructing justice. His arrest has raised concerns within the Ekurhuleni City Council, and he was appointed as City Manager on November 1, 2025, after serving as the Group CFO.
