Intelligence driven operations conducted by Police in the Western Cape has led to the successful arrest of two #gang-affiliated suspects in different incidents on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

Delft crime prevention unit members followed up on information they received about firearms that are kept at containers in Blikkiesdorp. Upon their arrival at the specific address, the members searched the place resulting to the discovery of a 9mm Z88 pistol, eleven 9mm rounds in the magazine and an imitation firearm. A 20-year-old male suspect was arrested and the firearm, ammunition including the imitation firearm were booked in as exhibits.

In a separate incident, at approximately 16:50 a 45-year-old female was arrested in Erica Way, Tafelsig for possession of firearms and dealing in drugs. The Mitchells Plain SAPS members found two unlicensed firearms and 55 mandrax tablets at the premises after they responded to intelligence they received about suspected firearms and drugs at the suspect’s address.

Both suspects will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court once they have been charged.
