  Frontline teams from the waste department of the City are rendering essential services such as waste collection, litter picking, illegal dumping removal and collection of refuse bags.

In 📍#Duduza services taking place are waste collection, operation and maintenance of the Duduza Mini site while in 📍#Nigel waste collection and litter picking are in progress.

📍#Edenvale - Round collection and litter picking operations are  being carried out .

In 📍Thembisa work include bulk container servicing, litter picking, illegal dumping removal and collection of refuse bags. Areas receiving attention are: Leboeng, Zone 3 & 4, Jiyane, Esiqongweni, Ntshonalanga, Ibazelo, Mkhathini, , Esiphethweni, Enhlanzeni, Lekaneng, Mpho, Zone 4, Tlamatlama, Tshepo, and Clayville West

📍#Katlehong, #Germiston CBD and Primrose litter picking and Illegal dumping in progress including in Elsburg and Palm Ridge  Ext.

✅Skip removal services are taking place in Germiston CBD and at the Sky City Mall

 Tuesday 21 April 2026 NPA WELCOMES LIFE SENTENCES IN DEADLY UPINGTON ROAD RAGE DOUBLE MURDER AND ATTEMPTED MURDER CASE Upington, Northern Cape – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomes the sentence imposed on John Ivan Francious Mouton (50), a resident of Upington, who was convicted by the High Court in Upington on two counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder following a tragic and senseless incident arising from a road collision. The matter stems from events that unfolded in the early hours of 17 December 2022. The accused was involved in a motor vehicle collision with Joshua Rock. Following the collision, he retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and threatened Rock. The three appeared at the Rustenburg Magistrates Court on Monday, 25 May Police on Saturday said that the 48-year-old taxi boss was shot multiple times while sitting in his vehicle. He was talking to two other people in his car when the shooting occurred. The suspects were caught after a member of the police’s mounted unit was working nearby and saw two suspects fleeing after the shots were fired. The police officer saw the suspects get into a white Suzuki car, which was waiting for them. “The suspects drove off with the vehicle, but were intercepted and arrested at the corner of Oliver Tambo and Bosch Streets in Rustenburg by mounted unit members, who were coordinated by their observant colleague,” the police said.
