NCC Leader Fadiel Adams Set to Testify at Madlanga Commission Tomorrow After Late 70-Page Affidavit Submission and Claims of Explosive New Evidence
National Coloured Congress MP and leader Fadiel Adams is scheduled to testify before the Madlanga Commission on 19 August 2026, after his appearance was postponed. The postponement followed the late submission of a lengthy sworn affidavit, reportedly about 70 pages plus annexures, which evidence leaders received after 9pm the night before.
The commission, chaired by retired Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, had been seeking a statement from Adams since issuing a Rule 3 notice in October 2025. Madlanga criticised the late submission and described Adams’ explanations as “unbelievable”, saying it appeared he was not taking the commission seriously. Adams blamed problems with his parliamentary laptop.
Adams previously lodged a Section 27 referral with the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption in late 2024 or early 2025. The referral underpinned an investigation and charges against senior Crime Intelligence figures, including Lt-Gen Dumisani Khumalo and others, although those charges were later provisionally withdrawn. Adams has also said classified documents were anonymously left at his parliamentary office.
Evidence at the commission has scrutinised the quality and handling of Adams’ original complaint to IDAC, including questions about discrepancies, the required threshold and whether the investigation expanded beyond his initial allegations through a possible “hidden hand”. The contents of his new affidavit have not been publicly released, although Adams has described it as containing “big bombs”.
