 [BETHLEHEM REGIONAL COURT HANDS DOWN LIFE TERM IMPRISONMENT SENTENCE TO TSHIDISO MOFOKENG FOR RAPE] #Sentencing #EndGBVF

On Tuesday, 18 August 2026, the Bethlehem Regional Court sentenced 36-year-old Tshidiso Mofokeng for the rape of his ex-girlfriend.
The Court heard the testimony how Tshidiso met the victim walking from a tavern on 08 December 2025. He then convinced her to accompany him to his residence. According to the testimony, Tshidiso assaulted the victim and violated her repeatedly for three days. During the third day, the victim managed to seek help through the window. She was rescued and taken to a local hospital.
A case of rape was opened at Reitz Police Station, and Constable Khehle Mosikili of Bethlehem Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit was tasked to complete the investigation. On Tuesday, 18 August 2026, Magistrate Monde Matsaya sentenced Tshidiso Mofokeng to life imprisonment, after the prosecutor, Mr Jaco Scholtz, had concluded the State’s case.
