The following has again resurfaced - Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) has warned the public against false claims that officials are conducting door-to-door identity document verification, biometric collection, or fingerprint scanning for census-related purposes.
Stats SA has confirmed that it does not conduct door-to-door visits for biometric collection, ID verification, or fingerprint scanning for any of its surveys or censuses.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent Stats SA.
If you are unsure about persons coming to your door, contact your security company, your local SAPS, or the Edenvale CPF.
