Our energy teams are on the ground across the city, attending to power-related complaints and infrastructure repairs to keep communities connected. 👷‍♂️🔌
📍 #GosforthPark – Repairs underway in Raakpoort after reports of streetlights being off. Teams are repairing wiring and replacing faulty lamps.
📍 #FreewayPark | Groenhof Road – Technicians are busy excavating and repairing a damaged cable supplying streetlights in the area.
📍 #AlraPark | Sastri Street – A broken wooden overhead line pole was reported. The line has been isolated, and replacement of the damaged pole is in progress.
📍 #Strubenvale | Marks Crescent – Power supply restored after teams conducted fault-finding operations and reset a tripped circuit breaker.

 Tuesday 5 May 2026 #WANTED The #HAWKS members from Pietermaritzburg Serious Commercial Crime Investigation are seeking information on the whereabouts of Gugu Maria Zikalala (55), who is wanted in connection with a fraud case. In March 2015, Zikalala is alleged to have submitted a false affidavit to the Master of the High Court in Pietermaritzburg, falsely claiming she was eligible for appointment as executor of the estate of the late Nqobile Minenhle Ndlovu and falsely claiming to be her biological mother. Zikalala also submitted a death certificate for the late Thulani Michael Ndlovu, the biological father of Nqobile Minenhle Ndlovu. Her application sought access to the minor’s guardian funds, amounting R243 983.09. The Hawks are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Gugu Maria Zikalala.
